11.2  Nodes in balance

The nodal force balance of Systematic truss analysis read again as virtual work: move node \(i\) only, and the internal virtual work of the bars gives the force balance of that node. One equation per free degree of freedom, and the stiffness matrix as the derivative of the internal nodal forces.
